How to grow it
SCARIFICATION: Open your Seeds In A Cup kit. Pour boiling water over the seeds and let soak for 24 hours. Viable seeds will swell to nearly double their size. Discard any seeds that don't swell.
PLANTING: Fill your Seeds In A Cup container with the provided growing medium. Plant scarified seeds ½ inch deep. Water gently. Place in a warm, bright location (70-80°F) or under a grow light for 14-16 hours/day. Germination is fast — expect sprouts in 7-14 days.
SEEDLING CARE: Black Locust seedlings are vigorous — among the fastest-growing trees you can grow from seed. When seedlings reach 6-8 inches, transplant to a larger pot. Plant outdoors in USDA Zones 3-8 in spring. Full sun, well-draining soil. WARNING: All parts except flowers are toxic — keep away from pets and children.
