How to grow it

WARM + COLD STRATIFICATION: Open your Seeds In A Cup kit and remove the seed packet. Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours. Place seeds in the provided moistened growing medium in a sealed bag. Keep at room temperature (70-80°F) for 60-90 days (warm stratification), then transfer to refrigerator at 33-41°F for an additional 90-120 days (cold stratification). Check moisture monthly.

PLANTING: After both stratification periods, fill your Seeds In A Cup container with the provided growing medium. Plant seeds ¼ inch deep. Water gently until moist. Place in warm, bright location (65-75°F) or under a grow light for 14-16 hours/day. Germination occurs within 30-60 days.

SEEDLING CARE: Cedar seedlings grow slowly (2-4 inches in the first year). Keep soil lightly moist but never waterlogged — cedars are drought-tolerant and rot-prone in soggy soil. When seedlings are 3-4 inches tall, transplant to a larger pot. Move outdoors in USDA Zones 2-9 after the last frost. Full sun and well-drained soil are essential.
